Exploration Team
For mixed land-and-water collection trips, use Basic Form Flutternym for Fly Lv.1 and recovery, Skippy for Swim Lv.1, Emberpup for Fire damage and stamina-based Hustle, and Hummin for combat BREAK. Change the swimming or recovery slot when the route does not need both.

Four members for a mixed-terrain trip
This setup prioritizes movement options and recovering between encounters. It keeps a damage dealer and a BREAK companion while using two support-oriented members for their different travel abilities. Choose it when those abilities help your planned route, rather than treating extra healing as a reason to carry both on every trip.
| Member | Route job | Combat job | Limit to remember |
|---|---|---|---|
| Flutternym | Fly Lv.1; Luminous Prowl enters Cloaked state. | Healing Dance, then cleanse or shielding as those skills become available. | Fly Lv.1 is not unrestricted flight; Cloaked does not establish invulnerability. |
| Skippy | Swim Lv.1 for routes involving water. | Healing Water when recovery is needed. | Its Water Spirit EP-cost reduction applies on water terrain. |
| Emberpup | Hustle increases movement speed by spending stamina. | Fire damage and dodge-timed Fire Kick. | Do not exhaust your movement reserve before a fight. |
| Hummin | Keeps the party ready for encounters along the route. | Pressure the enemy Break bar and create a damage opportunity. | Combat BREAK does not identify which exploration obstacle it can clear. |
Assemble Basic Forms in accessible habitat regions
All four Basic Forms list Nimbus Fields among their habitats. Start your collection there if it is on your current route, then check the individual entries for alternative regions. A habitat region is an area to search, not a guaranteed spawn coordinate or a promise that every target is available beside you.
Check the form before catching. These recommendations use Basic Form abilities; another regional form is not automatically an identical replacement. Use ordinary eligible encounters to assemble the jobs first instead of waiting for a rare appearance before exploring.
If you already have the starter team, keep Hummin and Skippy, compare Flutternym with Nimbi for the flying/recovery job, and decide whether Emberpup’s Hustle is useful enough to replace your familiar damage dealer. Keep Helion or Lunara when its combat sequence is working better for you.
Plan the route before choosing the last slot
Read the obstacle’s prompt before spending time on it. Wind interactions, Impact obstacles and progression-locked areas are different problems. Neither an element label nor the combat BREAK role proves that every related-looking obstacle can be cleared.
- Choose one region and a collection goal. Zoom the map far enough to inspect individual markers before setting off.
- Identify whether the route involves water, raised terrain or an obstacle with a named ability requirement.
- Check the actual form and pathfinding level on your chosen companion. A level-one movement label does not prove access through a higher-level requirement.
- Keep Skippy for a water-heavy route. For a mostly dry route, consider replacing it and keeping Flutternym as the recovery member.
- Prepare capture items and recovery resources, then begin with the reachable markers. Record a blocked objective and return with its required ability or progression instead of repeatedly trying the same action.
Use the movement job for the current leg
On open ground, use Emberpup’s Hustle while watching stamina. Ease off before a difficult landing or an encounter so movement remains available when the route becomes dangerous. Hustle is a resource tradeoff, not a permanent free speed bonus.
For a water leg, use Skippy’s available swimming action and inspect the landing before committing to the next crossing. For raised terrain, test Flutternym’s available flying action from safe ground. Keep the destination and any displayed movement limits in view.
Luminous Prowl gives Flutternym a Cloaked state. Continue to navigate carefully around threats; do not use the state as proof that enemies, terrain hazards or encounter restrictions no longer matter.
Pause at a safe point between legs to check HP, available EP and the next objective. Treat collection and combat as separate decisions: you do not need to spend every recovery skill simply because you changed movement companions.
Handle encounters without losing the route’s utility
Healing Dance recovers over eight seconds in its area. Its BREAK Damage Reduction does not reduce every kind of incoming damage. Plan space and timing for the recovery rather than counting it as an immediate full heal.
- Check whether the encounter is necessary for your collection goal. Preserve supplies when an optional fight offers nothing you need.
- When fighting, use Hummin to pressure the enemy Break bar. Aim Euphoric Sonic Blast’s cone when available; its energy return is not a stated party-wide refill.
- Switch to the damage job for an opening. With Emberpup, time Fire Kick around an incoming attack rather than expecting its successful-dodge benefit on every cast.
- Choose one recovery answer for the current problem. Skippy’s Healing Water and Flutternym’s Healing Dance both list 20 EP before conditional modifiers; keep the needed resource available.
- Use Flutternym’s cleanse for debuffs or its shield for incoming pressure when those skills are unlocked. After recovery, return to the next map objective instead of spending resources on a redundant second heal.
Swap for the route, not for a universal ranking
| Situation | Change to consider | What you give up |
|---|---|---|
| Dry route with repeated fights | Replace Skippy with Helion or Lunara if you want that familiar damage option; keep Flutternym for recovery. | Swimming utility and Skippy’s Water kit. |
| You have Nimbi but not Flutternym | Use Nimbi for Fly Lv.1 and Puff Up, retaining Skippy as healer. | Flutternym’s cleanse and area-healing options; Nimbi’s Cloud Shield protects itself. |
| Water-heavy trip with little need for flying | Keep Skippy and choose the fourth member around the encounters or required interaction. | Do not remove flight if a later leg still needs it. |
| Fire damage is unsuitable for the encounter | Replace Emberpup with a damage dealer whose available kit fits the target. | Hustle and the Fire Kick dodge sequence. |
| A named obstacle still blocks the route | Bring the specific ability or complete the stated progression requirement. | A general travel party cannot bypass every gate. |
Invest only after the route works
First verify that the movement actions are available and that the party can survive ordinary encounters. Then improve the skills you actually use: a functioning damage sequence, Hummin’s BREAK tools and one dependable recovery option.
Keep rare training investment separate from assembling the route team. Review potential, Capability caps and the form you intend to keep before spending heavily. A higher investment does not fix a missing pathfinding requirement or an incorrectly chosen form.
For a demanding Boss, rebuild around that encounter rather than preserving two recovery-oriented travel slots by habit. This collection setup trades combat specialization for route coverage; use the starter combat guide when you want a simpler role-balanced sequence.
