Aniimo Evolution Guide: Menu, Requirements & Branch Choices

Open Aniimo Management, select your Aniimo and use the evolution icon beside Level Up on its first information tab. Select the target branch, then check its unlock condition, Evolution Criteria and material cost separately. Meeting a level requirement does not automatically evolve the Aniimo or choose a branch for you.

Read all three parts of the requirement panel

A check mark on one condition does not complete the whole panel. You can have enough levels while still missing a Journey, or own a stone while the selected Aniimo lacks a required personality.

Read the wording literally. A condition about party composition is different from merely using that Aniimo for the final hit. A requirement for the Aniimo’s level is different from your Pathfinder’s progression.

Panel areaWhat it meansWhat to do next
Unlock EvolutionA prerequisite such as an encounter or Journey can gate the branch.Finish the named prerequisite before treating level or materials as the only missing step.
Evolution CriteriaThe selected Aniimo must meet the listed conditions.Check its own level and any named personality, location, time or combat condition.
CostThe items consumed for the selected evolution.Open each material tooltip and compare the owned amount with the required amount.

Example: Budsquire to Thornblade

For the Basic Form Thornblade branch, raise the Budsquire you plan to evolve to level 27, complete the listed solo-party condition and prepare one Sprout Stone.

Before attempting the encounter, remove the other members from your Aniimo party so it contains only the Budsquire. Simply Twining with Budsquire while retaining a full party does not match the condition shown in the panel.

After the fight, reopen Thornblade’s evolution panel and check the condition before spending the stone. If it remains incomplete, check the party setup and the target you defeated. Do not copy this requirement onto another branch or regional form.

Find the right evolution stone before farming

Select the stone icon in the Cost section to open its tooltip. Expand How to Obtain to see its source. For Sprout Stone, the tooltip identifies it as evolution material and directs you to defeat Alphas.

Start with the source listed for the stone you actually need. Different evolutions can use different materials; collecting a stone for one branch does not necessarily prepare the other branch.

Check the encounter’s displayed rewards and any claim cost before committing to repeated runs. Keep the amount owned in view and stop once you have the materials for your selected target. Do not assume every Alpha awards the same stone or quantity.

Choose the result before confirming

Some Aniimo have multiple evolution targets. Select each branch separately and compare its criteria and costs. A completed requirement for one branch does not make the other branch available.

Choose for the job you need the Aniimo to perform: dealing damage, helping BREAK, sustaining the party or handling exploration. Inspect the destination’s element, role and abilities instead of choosing only because its level requirement is already met.

Evolution waits for your confirmation. Reaching a threshold does not automatically pick the first available branch. Take the time to compare destinations before pressing Evolve.

A regional form label and an evolution destination describe different things. For example, Emberpup’s Basic, Highland and Mountain Woods entries have different habitat information; those labels alone do not tell you which evolution materials to farm.

Evolution is separate from your other training systems

Awakening, Potential, Inheritance and Resonance training have their own requirements. A crystal or duplicate used in one of those systems is not automatically an evolution material.

Finish the selected evolution’s own panel first, then revisit the resulting Aniimo’s training and team role. If you are planning an exploration party, check that your final setup still covers the movement and recovery abilities you need.
