Scorchhowl Fire Boss Team
Use Scorchhowl for the charged finishing hit, Sparkelf for Fire buffs, Inferlupa for BREAK and Somniwing for energy recovery. Against the Ice Alpha Geoclaw, prepare the buffs, create an opening, refill EP and then commit to Burn Breaker. This four-member setup is for players who already own the required members and can survive the boss while setting up.

The four members and their jobs
This is a burst rotation built around a specific damage window. Somniwing’s extra maximum EP and recovery complement a finisher that spends the remaining energy. Inferlupa makes the opening; Sparkelf makes the Fire attacks more valuable.
Have all four members ready before treating this as a complete rotation. If you are still assembling your first party, use the starter team route below and train the missing roles rather than replacing a member solely because its element matches.
Use an early damage, BREAK and recovery setup before committing to this specialist team.
Prepare the party’s levels and trainingImprove the members needed to survive the setup phase.
| Member | Job in this team | What to prepare |
|---|---|---|
| Scorchhowl | Fire burst damage | Equip Burn Breaker and Fire Kick; save EP for the charged hit. |
| Sparkelf | Fire damage support | Prepare its Fire-boosting ultimate and Inspiration before the damage window. |
| Inferlupa | Create the Break opening | Use basic attacks to reach Full Energy, then use Crossfire for this Fire setup. |
| Somniwing | Refill the party’s energy | Keep its energy-restoring ultimate ready for the transition into Scorchhowl. |
Prepare Inferlupa before assembling the team
Keep separate Flameruffs if you plan to obtain both Scorchhowl and Inferlupa through evolution. Check the Inferlupa branch’s Journey, level and material requirements before investing in the rest of this party.
Use Alpha Geoclaw as the target scenario
The target for this rotation is the Ice Alpha Geoclaw. Fire has an offensive advantage against Ice, so Scorchhowl’s attack choice fits the encounter. Check the target’s actual element before carrying the same recommendation into another form or boss.
This is a September 2026 launch-era setup. The demonstrated matchup uses level-60 party members against a level-55 Alpha Geoclaw. Those levels give the team an advantage; a lower-level party should expect a longer fight and may need more recovery. Build for surviving the preparation phase before chasing a large finishing hit.

The rotation: buffs, Break, energy, charged hit
Refresh Inspiration if it expires during a slow setup, but weigh the extra swap against the remaining Break opening. The goal is to deliver the charged hit with useful buffs and energy still available.
Somniwing’s sleep ends when the target is hit. Do not assume every later attack in the rotation receives the sleeping-target benefit, and do not rely on sleep landing against every enemy.
- Start with Sparkelf when its ultimate is available. Apply the longer Fire boost first, then Inspiration closer to the attack sequence so the shorter buff is not spent on preparation.
- Swap to Inferlupa. Build Full Energy with its basic-attack sequence, then use Crossfire toward the Break opening. Watch the boss’s actual Break state rather than switching after a fixed number of seconds.
- Once the opening is ready, swap to Somniwing and use its ultimate to restore EP. If you use the sleep skill, treat its short control window as an aid to the swap, not as a permanent damage increase.
- Switch to Scorchhowl. When a safe incoming attack allows it, use Fire Kick for its dodge interaction. Do not wait for an attack that will arrive after the Break opening has ended.
- Aim Burn Breaker and charge it fully while the target is vulnerable. Check the energy bar before committing: the fully charged attack consumes the remaining EP.
- If the boss survives, move out safely and rebuild the rotation. Restore energy and refresh expired buffs before the next charged hit instead of repeating Burn Breaker on an empty bar.
Why EP matters more than another random attack
Burn Breaker’s skill panel lists a 30 EP cost. At maximum charge, it consumes all remaining EP and gains 30% extra damage for each extra 10 EP consumed. This is why recovery belongs immediately before the Scorchhowl burst.
Keep the normal skill cost and the additional EP consumed separate. A full-looking bar before several support actions is not the same as the energy available when Burn Breaker resolves. Read the bar again after the final swap.
The setup uses Explosive Gloves on Scorchhowl, an item that rewards available EP. Compare the effect on your own item and upgrade tier before changing gear. The rotation’s essential requirement is usable energy at the moment of the burst; an item cannot replace that preparation.
When the burst does not work
A swap to a healer changes this four-member setup: it removes a buff, Break tool or energy role. Make that trade deliberately when survival is the bottleneck. Do not expect the same timing or damage after replacing one of the core roles.
| Problem | Likely cause to check | Next adjustment |
|---|---|---|
| Burn Breaker feels weak | Low remaining EP, incomplete charge or expired Fire buffs | Refill immediately before the finisher and shorten the swap sequence. |
| The boss moves out of the attack | The opening ended before the charge connected | Begin the finishing sequence earlier and aim from a safe position. |
| Inferlupa does not create an opening | The boss has not entered Break yet | Finish the basic-attack and Crossfire setup; watch the actual state. |
| The party loses too much health | Too much time exposed during preparation | Improve levels and survival first, or return to a team with dedicated healing. |
| The same team struggles against another boss | The target resists Fire or requires a different attack window | Recheck element and mechanics before copying the rotation. |
Practice one complete cycle before optimizing damage
Make aiming and swapping comfortable before tightening the rotation.
Understand Alpha held items before farming upgradesSeparate an item’s effect and rarity from the team’s skill sequence.
- Enter with the four required members and the named skills equipped.
- Identify the Break opening and rehearse the three support roles without rushing the finisher.
- Watch whether EP is restored before Scorchhowl takes over.
- Land one fully charged hit, then survive the recovery phase.
- Only after the cycle is reliable, optimize the shorter buff refresh and perfect-dodge timing.
