Tracing the Trail Investigation Guide

In Tracing the Trail, choose the Aniimo you want to improve as the investigation leader, then fill the team to match the selected area’s preference conditions. Review the reward rating and timer before deploying. Energy Resonance can add +1 to a random potential of the leader, but this particular reward is not guaranteed.

Start with an available clue

The board includes area-specific investigations such as Nimbus Fields and Forest of Falling Stars. Read the selected card instead of assuming that every clue uses the same lineup.

  1. Open the event menu and select Tracing the Trail.
  2. Choose an unlocked investigation card. The event board separates completed clues, prerequisite locks and countdown locks.
  3. If a clue requires an earlier investigation, complete that investigation first. If it shows a countdown, use the displayed opening time.
  4. Open the selected area’s dispatch panel and read its preference hints before assigning the team.

Choose the leader for the potential reward

The leader matters because Chance Encounter Gift: Energy Resonance targets the Leader Aniimo. Put the individual Aniimo whose potential you want to improve in that slot before filling the remaining team.

The reward adds +1 to a random potential. It does not let you select a stat, apply +1 to every potential, or improve all dispatched Aniimo at once. Picking a powerful species is not enough: choose the specific individual you want to keep training.

Balance this long-term target against the investigation timer. Prismana and Sparkling Aniimo can help shorten investigation time, but a faster trip with the wrong leader directs any leader-specific improvement to the wrong Aniimo.

Improve the team rating before Deploy

The event rules tie the reward rating to how well the dispatched Aniimo meet the area’s preferences. A high combat level alone does not answer that requirement.

An S rating is reachable in the shown investigation by changing the selected team. Use the live rating as feedback instead of copying a fixed team across every area. The timer shown for one lineup is not a universal duration for all investigations.

  1. Assign the leader first, then inspect the remaining team slots.
  2. Read the area preference hints shown in the dispatch panel.
  3. Use Quick Select as a starting point, then inspect its chosen team.
  4. Try suitable replacements from your collection and watch the rating and More Rewards preview.
  5. Compare the displayed duration as well as the rewards. Confirm the intended leader again, then choose Deploy.

Separate base rewards from the chance gift

Finish the investigation and inspect the result before counting a potential increase. The presence of Energy Resonance in a preview does not mean it was awarded.

Keep the base reward improvement separate from the random gift. Improving the team rating is useful, but it is not evidence of a guaranteed Energy Resonance result or a known drop percentage.

Chance Encounter GiftA separate possible reward outcome; inspect the listed options.
Energy ResonanceIf received, the leader gains +1 to a random potential.

Check these before sending the team

Review the leader, rating, reward preview and duration together. Those four checks prevent spending an investigation on a lineup that meets only one of your goals.
